Jewels’ Jungle

Terri Schiavo (Dec. 3, 1963 – March 31, 2005)

June16

Terri’s autopsy report has been released to the media. (into original copy made PDF)

A lot of pro-death blogs out there are jumping up and down and pointing right now- giddy with the knowledge that Terri was indeed, severly brain damaged. To that I have to say “well duh.”

Regardless of how brain damaged she was- the fact still remains that we don’t know for sure what she wanted. We do know that Terri had people who loved her very much who were very willing to care for her for the rest of her life. They asked for no money, no compensation, they even offered to pay Terri’s guardian to let them have custody of her. We also know that Michael Schiavo had a live-in girlfriend, had two kids by the same woman, would inherrit a lot of money when Terri died, and this man had been trying for years to kill Terri off. (excuse me, “let her die by removing her source of food and water”. )

The fact still remains- no matter how disabled you are- no matter how young or old you are- you still have the right to life. In all cases, we should always err on the side of life. Terri should not have been killed. A horrible injustice occured the day they pulled the tube.

UPDATE:
Kevin at Wizbang adds his 2 bits. Basically he is also sticking with his original thoughts- though it differs slightly from mine- he still makes a good point.

UPDATE 2:
Can’t believe I’ve never been to this blog before. Trevino says here what I was thinking- only better.

UPDATE 3:
La Shawn, a woman far more eloquent then I could ever dream to be- gives her thoughts on the matter. If you follow no other link here- you must go to her site and see what she has to say. MUST, I say.
