Roberts’ wife is a feminist… a pro-life feminist.
(incidentally- so am I)
DUers are a tad riled up after reading a post referring to another post at redstate.org which claims that Roberts’ wife used to be the Executive Vice President of Feminists For Life… a Pro-Life organization.
As it turns out- the claim is completely true. Jane Sullivan Roberts was part of the org in 1998 and 1999. I’m not finding any info about when or why she left, but we at least know she was pro-life.
Now, a lot of wives of public officials have had differing opinions on abortion from their husbands (Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush- just to name two) and it didn’t at all effect their husband’s job performance or personal beliefs. Still, to lifers- this will be extremely encouraging. To Dems- it will be a major scare point. Not to mention I forsee a most uncomfortable scrutinization of Mrs. Roberts and her career in the near future.

This is awesome news! I hope that she and her husband are in agreement. We need to end the scourge of abortion. Women deserve better.
