Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.

No information has been released about whether a suspect is in custody.

Tiller’s name has been frequently brought up in the abortion debate because of his active support for late term abortions. (he also provided them at his clinic)

His death is absolutely a tragedy and my heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

If the murderer’s intent was to “save the lives” of the children who were being aborted- well congratulations. You just created a martyr for the pro-choice side. It was hard enough getting people to listen to this debate before, as emotionally and politically charged as it is. Thanks to you, abortion activists will be using your actions from now until forever to discredit our message. You give the pro-choicers the opportunity to label abortionists “noble” and “brave” for doing what they do.

Let me be absolutely clear on this: Murdering this man goes against EVERYTHING the pro-life movement is for. A TRULY prolife person defends ALL LIFE, from the moment someone is conceived until they die asleep in their beds at 112 years of age. ALL LIFE is precious and should be defended, EVEN the life of this abortionist. You want REAL change? you want an abortionist to stop killing children AND to deny the left a weapon against us? Talk to these people.
